My name is Hannu Rajaniemi. I’m a director and co-founder of ThinkTank Maths. I also write science fiction, and sometimes perform with the illustrious Writers’ Bloc.
I was born in Ylivieska, Finland, but have spent the last decade in Edinburgh. I studied mathematical physics in University of Oulu and Cambridge and did my Ph.D. in string theory under José Figueroa-O’Farrill.
My first novel is The Quantum Thief, published in the UK by Gollancz and forthcoming from Gummerus in Finland and Tor in the U.S. in the spring of 2011.
