We seem to be enjoying the usual Scottish two-day summer here in Edinburgh. But I’m not complaining: it’s absolutely gorgeous out here, and I’m watching birds (the feathered variety, not scantily clad babes, sadly) while typing this sitting on a bench at the Blackford Hill nature reserve. There is a syanesthetic scent of green in the warm air, and the sun makes the yellow swathes of gorse bushes that girdle the hill look golden. There are girl ducks and boy ducks and they are happy. So am I.
So I’m going to close the laptop and do nothing.
