Discussion of the future of science in relation to computers appears to be fashionable these days: Nature has a free access collection of articles related to the future of computing, including a piece by Singularity Big Daddy Vernor Vinge. Vinge argues that the Internet is first and foremost a creativity engine, allowing both scientists and everyday users to collaborate in novel ways.
