Tiger arrived this morning. I can’t really tell if it lives up to the best operating system ever hype, but it certainly looks pretty. The point of Dashboard kinda eludes me, though — going to a whole different environment to use little apps that don’t really talk to the rest of the system? Huh? Why not just have them sitting on the desktop like Konfabulator does?
Spotlight and Automator are awesome, though. But I’m not a completely happy geek today: the Tiger installation broke both Emacs and TextMate (at least until the CVS compile finishes and the next beta comes out, respectively). Oh well. Fortunately mathematics only requires pen and paper.
